Preoperative Instructions

Please stop taking the following ONE WEEK prior to your surgery- unless otherwise directed by your Doctor.

These products can increase your risk of bleeding or bruising.

1. Products containing Aspirin (unless otherwise directed by your doctor)
2. Pain relivers in the NSAIDS family such as: Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) Naproxen (Aleve)
3. Herbal Supplements
4. Fish oil supplements (eating fish is OK)
5. Green Tea
6. Multivitamins/ Vitamin E Supplements
7. You may continue to take Vitamin Dor Calcium until the day before surgery

**IF YOU ARE TAKING ANY OTHER MEDICATION PRESCRIBED BY YOUR PHYSICAN TAKE AS DIRECTED** Except the ones listed above.

You may take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) during the week prior to your surgery
Please tell us if you are taking Apixaban (Eliquis, Clopidogrel (Plavix), Dabigatran
(Pradaxa), Dipyridamole (Aggrenox), Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) Warfarin (Coumadin), or any other type of blood thinner.

Please eat light breakfast and drink water. We will give you your first dose of your medication prior to starting the procedure.
